CITB Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (Requalification)
The CITB Site Safety Plus Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) health and safety course is highly recommended for anyone assuming supervisory responsibilities on a construction site.
The SSSTS training course helps site foremen and gangers to develop a better understanding of the legal, moral and social responsibilities of their role, and the importance of good safety practice. Successful candidates will also work more effectively with site management in integrating safety into site works.
Candidates are continually assessed during the course, culminating in a summative assessment.
To retain the qualification beyond the expiry date delegates must attend and pass the SSSTS Refresher course within 5 years.
The SSSTS course covers The Health & Safety at Work Act and the regulations relevant to the Construction Industry, but more so how these are interpreted and put into practice in the planning and management of construction operations such as
– Site Set Up
– Inductions and communications
– Risk Assessment
– Method Statements
– Working at Height
– Confined Spaces
